How CNA testing works in Alaska

- Alaska uses Credentia for the NNAAP written (or oral) exam and the skills evaluation. Start at the Credentia Alaska test-taker page and open the Candidate Handbook articles for scheduling, fees, and eligibility.
- Skills Evaluation: you typically demonstrate five skills in about 30 minutes. Hand hygiene is always included, and one of the four remaining skills is a measurement skill. Critical Element Steps in bold must be done correctly.
- Written exam: 70 multiple-choice NNAAP items in English (oral option available). You must pass both written/oral and skills to proceed toward Alaska CNA certification.
- Credentia testing is only one step. The Alaska Board of Nursing issues the CNA certificate through MyAlaska / MY LICENSE after you pass and complete Board application requirements. Board application is separate from the Credentia Platform.
- Attempt limits and eligibility-route timing windows are handbook-specific. Confirm live wording in Exam Results before you schedule retakes.
- For registry / license status, use the Alaska Board Nurse Aide Registry page and the Professional License Search. Confirm live status after scores post (handbook notes can take about a week).
