Oregon CNA Exam Prep: Requirements & Study Path
Supplemental study for Oregon nurse aide candidates on the Headmaster / D&S Diversified pathway. Confirm TMU scheduling, Candidate Handbook subject areas, skills tasks, and Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) Nurse Portal steps on official pages.
How CNA testing works in Oregon
Typical vendor path: Headmaster / D&S Diversified. MedCertPrep is independent exam prep, not a state registry. Use the official resources section for eligibility, fees, and skills wording.
- Oregon nurse aide testing is administered by D&S Diversified Technologies (Headmaster). It is not Credentia NNAAP and not Prometric.
- Passing Headmaster alone is not enough. Oregon candidates also apply through the OSBN Nurse Portal and must complete Board requirements (including fingerprints) before CNA certification is issued. Confirm live OSBN steps on oregon.gov/osbn and the Nurse Portal.
- Create and complete your record in the Oregon TestMaster Universe (TMU) portal, pay testing fees, then schedule knowledge and skill exams per the current Candidate Handbook.
- Knowledge exam: typically 80 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes, drawn from Headmaster handbook subject areas. Passing is typically 73% or better per the February 2026 handbook; confirm live score wording in the current PDF.
- Skill test: you typically demonstrate 3 or 4 tasks in about 35 minutes. Bold critical/key steps must be correct, and you must also meet the handbook non-key step threshold (commonly 80% of non-key steps). Confirm live task count, timing, and scoring in the current handbook.
- After you pass testing and complete OSBN requirements, use OSBN license lookup to verify credential status.
- MedCertPrep written practice is supplemental theme prep; Oregon subject areas and scored skills steps still come from Headmaster and OSBN materials.
Official Oregon CNA resources
Read these official pages first. We summarize what each covers and link out. We do not copy full skills checklists; scored steps belong on the vendor site. Fees, eligibility, skills wording, attempt rules, and handbook articles can change without notice. Always confirm the latest details on the official site before you register or rehearse. If a deep link does not open, start from the official homepage below and look up the current document there.

Study on MedCertPrep
Oregon knowledge items follow the Headmaster Candidate Handbook subject areas (typically 80 questions in 90 minutes). MedCertPrep practice is NNAAP-structured supplemental prep for overlapping nurse aide themes (ADLs, safety, infection control, rights, reporting). It is not a Headmaster clone bank. Scored skills steps come only from the official Oregon handbook task list.
