How CNA testing works in Wyoming
Typical vendor path: Headmaster / D&S Diversified. MedCertPrep is independent exam prep, not a state registry. Use the official resources section for eligibility, fees, and skills wording.
- Wyoming nurse aide testing is administered by D&SDT-Headmaster, approved by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing (WSBN). It is not Credentia NNAAP and not Prometric. Older Prometric Wyoming materials online are outdated. Use Headmaster and TMU only.
- Create and complete your record in the Wyoming TestMaster Universe (TMU) portal, pay testing fees, then schedule knowledge and skill exams per the current Candidate Handbook (Version 2.0, effective October 1, 2024) linked from the Headmaster Wyoming CNA home.
- Knowledge exam (per that handbook; confirm the live PDF): typically 60 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, drawn from Headmaster handbook subject areas. Passing is typically 76% or better.
- Skill test: you typically demonstrate 3 or 4 tasks in a maximum of 30 minutes. You must correctly perform all key steps (bold) and 80% of all non-key steps on each assigned task. Confirm live task count, timing, and scoring in the current handbook.
- You have five attempts within two years after graduation to pass knowledge and skills. If you fail five attempts on either part, you must complete a new WSBN-approved training program.
- After you pass both parts and meet Board requirements, you are listed on the Wyoming Nurse Aide Registry. Use the Wyoming State Board of Nursing site cited in the handbook and the Wyoming TMU portal for listing context.
